Question 1

What exactly is Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)?

Accepted Answer

AEO is the process of optimizing your brand’s online presence so that AI-powered answer engines, like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity, understand, trust, and recommend your brand when users ask questions. Unlike SEO, which focuses on search engine rankings, AEO focuses on being the answer AI gives.

Question 2

How is AEO different from SEO?

Accepted Answer

SEO helps search engines find you. AEO helps AI models choose you. While SEO optimizes for keywords and backlinks, AEO focuses on entity clarity, structured data, authoritative citations, and the signals that AI uses to decide which brands to recommend. Many businesses rank well on Google but are invisible to AI.

Question 3

How long until I see results with AEO?

Accepted Answer

Most brands see early visibility improvements within 2–6 weeks. The first phase (audit + data optimization) typically takes 1–2 weeks. From there, we continuously strengthen your AI presence. Full authority positioning, where AI consistently recommends you across multiple engines, usually develops over 2–3 months.

Question 4

Is AEO really necessary for my business?

Accepted Answer

If your customers might ask AI for recommendations in your industry, yes. Over 800 million people use ChatGPT weekly, and that number is growing fast. AI is rapidly becoming the first place people ask for recommendations, advice, and service providers. Brands that don’t optimize for AI will become invisible to a growing share of their market.
